In the Cordillera Negra porphyry–epithermal metallogenic belt, flanked by two active mines and close to the Pierina mine.
A bulk-tonnage silver–gold–lead–zinc system in the Cordillera Negra.
Jonco is a large-scale Ag-Au-Pb-Zn system associated with rhyolite flows, with dacite and andesite flows. Historic work defined a silver-rich zone and a gold-bearing zone. The system is open, and much of the property outside the old drill area is only lightly explored.

Largely unexplored 3,830 hectares, with high-grade epithermal veins and porphyry targets still to be tested.
3,830 hectares in the Cordillera Negra, in the Miocene volcanic belt of Ancash, Peru, about 25–30 km from the past-producing Pierina mine (Barrick; initial reserve of about 113 million tonnes at 2.0 g/t gold, with about 8.5 million ounces of gold and 20.6 million ounces of silver produced).
The Ancash region is easily accessible from Lima and the nearby town of Huaraz, the regional capital (about 120,000 people, at 3,050 m elevation).
